The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Bihar has officially issued an urgent notification regarding the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) 2026–27. As per the official notice, the last date to submit online Fresh and Renewal applications on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP)—along with the institute and district-level verification dates—has been extended.

If you passed the NMMSS examination in 2023, 2024, or 2025, you can now complete your application on the NSP portal before the revised deadline.

Mandatory Rules & Application Guidelines

To ensure your application is not rejected on the NSP portal, candidates must follow these mandatory requirements:

1. One Time Registration (OTR) is Compulsory: Every candidate submitting a Fresh Application for 2026–27 must complete OTR on the NSP portal before filling out the main form.
2. Aadhaar Card Criteria:
   • 18 Years and Above: An Aadhaar Card is strictly mandatory for the applicant.
   • Minor Applicants (Below 18): If the applicant does not have an Aadhaar/EID, providing the Aadhaar card of at least one parent or legal guardian is mandatory.
3. Daily Online Verification: Both Institute Nodal Officers (INO) and District Nodal Officers (DNO) are directed to verify all incoming applications daily to achieve 100% completion before the final deadline.

How to Apply / Renew Bihar NMMSS Scholarship on NSP

1. Visit the official website of the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in).
2. Complete your One Time Registration (OTR) using a valid mobile number and Aadhaar details.
3. Log in using your OTR credentials.
4. Select Bihar as your state and choose National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme.
5. Fill in all required academic, bank account, and personal information carefully.
6. Upload necessary documents and click on Submit.
7. Take a printout of the application form and submit it to your school principal for INO Verification.
