Magadh University Ph.D. Guidelines 2026: Ordinance Updates for PAT 2022-23 & 2024 Sessions

The university has outlined distinct regulatory frameworks governing students who passed the Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT) 2022-23 versus those enrolling in the 2024 and upcoming sessions.

Applicable Ph.D. Ordinance & Regulations

Based on the decisions taken during the Deans’ meeting and the University Examination Committee meeting (Item No. 03-(1)) chaired by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor on September 3, 2026, the following rules have been enforced:

• For PAT 2022-23 Passed Students: All research work and the Ph.D. program for candidates who passed the Ph.D. Admission Test (PAT) 2022-23 will be strictly conducted according to the Old Ordinance & Regulation (2017) issued by the Governor’s Secretariat, Bihar.
• For Ph.D. 2024 & Future Sessions: All candidates enrolling in the Ph.D. 2024 session and any subsequent sessions will have their research work governed by the New Ordinance & Regulation (2026) issued by the Governor’s Secretariat, Bihar.

This directive has been marked as highly urgent and applies to all university departments and self-financed educational institutions under Magadh University.
