Magadh University UG 7th Semester Admission Guidelines 2026 (Session 2023-27)

Magadh University, Bodhgaya has officially released the admission and academic guidelines for students entering the U.G. 7th Semester under the CBCS curriculum for the Session 2023-27. Eligible students who have passed their 6th Semester can review the official criteria regarding the “Honours with Research” degree, course credits, exit options, and mandatory internships before proceeding with their 7th-semester admissions.

Magadh University UG 7th Sem Degree & Research Guidelines

Based on the NEP-2020 regulations and the Governor’s Secretariat directives, the university has categorized the degree structure for the 7th and 8th semesters:

• Honours with Research: Students who have secured a CGPA of 7.5 or above (from 1st to 6th Semester) are eligible to select a Research subject in their final 8th Semester. Upon completion, they will be awarded an “Honours with Research” degree.
• Standard Honours (CGPA < 7.5): Students with a CGPA below 7.5 will not be eligible for the research track. Instead, they will study 3 courses of 4 Credits each in the 8th Semester to receive a standard “Honours” degree.
• Opting Out of Research: If a student has a CGPA of 7.5 or higher but chooses not to select a Research subject, they will be awarded a standard “Honours” degree.

Exit Option & Mandatory Internship Rules

• Exit Option after 6th Semester: Students who do not wish to take admission in the 7th Semester (i.e., those who want to conclude their undergraduate studies) must forward their application to the university through their respective colleges. After paying the prescribed university fee, they will be awarded their UG degree.
• Mandatory Internship: Completing an internship during the 5th Semester is absolutely mandatory to receive the Honours degree.
• Admission Restriction: No student will be permitted to take admission in the 7th Semester until the official exam results of the 6th Semester are published.
